About

Every garden needs a cook.

Ben, my husband, started the blog 28 Pots to highlight the work he and I are doing on our roof deck. He inspired me to write my own blog, 28 Pans, about the work we do in the kitchen after harvesting the garden.

We both used to be scientists. Ben still is, studying the evolution of mushrooms, and soon to study the micro-community of cheese. I am no longer, I realized it wasn’t for me. So in November 2009, I quit graduate school and started my first job in a restaurant kitchen. I started at No 9 Park, my favorite restaurant in Boston. So this blog started as me the interested home cook, and is now about working in the restaurant. Ben is a pretty awesome gardener, so I figured I should be an equally awesome cook. I’m working on it.
